Get the most out of your digital camera and learn from an experienced professional photographer how to take great photographs during this 6- week class. Topics covered will be: Basic Photographic Concepts, Digital Photography’s Strengths and Weaknesses, Workflow from Camera to Print, Basic Adobe Photoshop Techniques and Long-Term Digital Image Storage. Students must have a camera that can be controlled manually. This can be a DSLR, mirrorless, or even a “point and shoot” camera as long as it has a manual exposure option. Students also need to understand computer basics - primarily how to create folders and move files.

The fun and fast paced class will keep you learning and challenged, while having fun. We will cover basic techniques such as color harmony, contrast, color values and light's relationship with color. Each week we will learn something new, and you will have a fun assignment to apply what you have learned! It will not be just color study, but we will apply your knowledge to actual paintings done in class and as homework.

Penobscot Bay Sail & Power Squadron, America's Boating Course-Hampden

The basic five-week (8 hours + exam) course is designed to familiarize the student with the fundamentals of safe boating and to qualify for certification in most states that require boating education before operating a watercraft.  Coverage includes safety equipment, trip planning, navigation rules and aids, state and federal regulations, anchoring, dealing with adverse conditions and emergencies, communications, trailering, and knots and lines.  The information is useful for users of all sorts of watercraft (power, sail, paddle) and for both ocean and freshwater boating.  The course includes an examination.  The student course book is recommended, but optional, and may be shared.   For more information, contact the instructor at meeser3@roadrunner.com or 862-3674 or the RSU #22 Adult Education Office at 862-6422.
