Hampden--Digital Photography: Capturing The Right Shot

This 3 night course is designed for students who have their own camera, have an understanding of how the camera works, and/or feels comfortable with digital photography. This course will cover basic photography concepts, how to compose the best photo, landscape photography, as well as taking photos in a variety of settings.

Make a wool covering for a notebook with an appliqued flower whose flower pot is actually a pocket to hold your pen. Use your journal as a recipe book, keep track of your hobby, scrapbook, or to contain your secret thoughts. Make it for yourself or surprise Mom for Mothers Day. Bring scissors and lunch.
Materials Fee: $12 paid to instructor at the time of class

Tiny wool quillies and beads are combined to make a sweet bracelet. Enjoy a night out and go home with it all made! Bring scissors.

Messages and Masterpieces - Paint with a Twist!
No experience needed for this fun step by step painting class. But there IS a twist! I'm a psychic medium, so I also offer a brief intuitive message to each person based on their painting! I'm always amazed at the messages that come through just from the paintings! All supplies are included, plus a brief message from the painting. 2 hour class

Hampden--Introduction to Clay: Handbuilding & the Pottery Wheel Session 1

Satisfy your curiosity about clay! Come get your hands dirty in this fun introduction to handbuilding and throwing clay on the pottery wheel! This 4 week class will provide hands-on instruction covering the fundamentals of clay both handbuilding and throwing: centering, opening, pulling up and shaping your pots. You’ll learn about the stages that clay goes through – from wet, to leather-hard, to bone-dry and about the hand-tools used for trimming and creating texture on pots. Please wear casual, loose fitting clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty. If you would like to hand build please call the office to register. We have four pottery wheels that will be shared and utilized during each session.

Have you heard of the magic that is alcohol inks? Create a watercolor look on non-porous surfaces. Make plain white tiles into pieces of art. No art skills needed to make something gorgeous, super easy, and unique. Paint on glazed surfaces, glass, metal, etc. A variety of surfaces will be provided.

Hampden--Intermediate Watercolor

Intermediate level (some basic watercolor experience required)
In this class you'll get all the tools you need to take your watercolor paintings to the next level. We will cover drawing for a painting, composition, and how to create a finished painting. This class is designed to challenge you as an artist. Come in with your ideas and see them come to life in this exciting class. You will walk away more confident and skilled in creating beautiful scenes, still lives and portraits.
Materials Needed :
- Set of watercolor paints (tube)
- Paint brushes in a variety of sizes with at least one around an inch wide.
- Cup for water
- Paper Towels
- Blow Dryer
- 9x12 140lb Canson Watercolor Paper
- Pencils
- Masking tape
- Artist Board
- Micron pens
- Optional: Easel, apron or paint shirt, box or bag to carry everything in, colored pencils, markers, and anything else you like to create with.
