Preserving Rhubarb Workshop

Calendar May 22, 2019 at 5:30 pm, runs for 1 week

In this one-night, hands-on workshop, you'll learn the basic steps for canning and freezing rhubarb. Participants will recive a food preservation packet and will learn recommended methods for preserving foods.

Everyone will go home with a jar of what we make.

The $26.00 course fee includes the cost of all materials.

 

Primitive Rug Hooking - Spring

Calendar Apr 10, 2019 at 6:30 pm, runs for 4 weeks

In this 2-day class, you will learn the craft of 'old fashioned' rug hooking - pulling strips of wool. This class is designed for both beginning and experienced rug hookers. Previous students may bring their own project or purchase one from the instructor.

You'll learn the basic techniques, plus cutting wool and how to finish your pieve. Hooks and frames may also be puirchased from the instructor if needed. 

There are several new designs to choose from.

A $35.00 materials/kit fee will be payable to the instructor during the first class.

To ensure a space in this class, you must register with adult education. Do not attempt to register directly with the instructor.

 The class will meet on February 9 and March 2.

Real World Math - Old Town

Calendar Jan 29, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 15 weeks

Real World Math focuses on useful applications of math, including getting the best value while shopping, calculating area and volume, understanding charts and graphs, and working with probabilities. Along the way, we will review core math topics such as fractions, decimals, percents, and ratios. A great course for those who want to brush up on their math skills for personal use or as a transition to higher education.

This is a 45-hour, high school level math class.

There is no course fee for local residents taking the class to earn their adult education high school diploma. $20 course fee for others.

Red Cardinal Paint Night

In this one night paint and sip style class you will create an acrylic painting of a proud red cardinal in the winter. Feel free to improvise and choose your own colors while the instructor demonstrates the method.

Bring a coffee or tea with you; snacks will be provided.

A $15.00 materials fee will be payable to the instructor the night of class.

A snack will be provided; bring a coffee to tea with you.

A $15.00 materials fee will be paid directly to the instructor the night of class.
