Basic First Aid-Hampden

Basic first aid principles will be covered in this hands-on, one-night course. Topics include bleeding, shock, injuries, sudden illness and more. Students will receive an American Heart Association Heart Saver certificate after completing the course.

Culinary Knife Skills-Orono

Calendar Mar 11, 2020 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

In this one night class, through a combination of demonstration and practice, you will learn to slice, dice and Brunoise like a pro. You will learn about knives and how to care for them properly while practicing basic techniques. Please bring a paring knife, a chef knife along with a cutting board. 

Cost: $10 (plus $5 materials fee paid directly to the instructor)

Whether you're cooking for yourself or for a family, come learn some techniques in saving money at meal time. We'll create some meals that won't break the bank! We'll use a few inexpensive ingredients like roast chicken, canned beans and colorful vegetables, to make a few delicious meals. Cost $7 (plus a materials fee $20 paid directly to the instructor)

Resin Jewelry Class - Hampden

We’ve all seen cool resin jewelry in shops and boutiques. In this class you will learn to make pendants, earrings, charms and more. Epoxy jewelry resins are durable, usually clear or translucent, resins that come in two parts. When the two parts are mixed together, the epoxy from a liquid to a solid. You may add, pictures, sand, glitter, mica, and more. Materials will be provided, but if you have small, interesting pictures or items you would like to add to your project, please bring them.

Cost: $10 (plus a $10 materials fee paid directly to instructor)

Native Plants for the Home Landscape-Hampden

They play an especially important role in our ecosystem as more and more of our wild spaces are being developed. Learn how home landscapes can enhance biodiversity and gather some ideas for natives that will beautify and even address some challenging landscape situations.

 Join Yoga and Meditation Instructor, Jessica King, for a 3 week meditation exploration journey. If you are new to meditation or are looking to deepen your practice Jessica will help guide you toward your meditation goals. Each of the classes will build on the last allowing you to practice the skills you are learning each week. Come dressed comfortably with a pillow or cushion to sit on (or use a chair), a blanket or warm sweater is also nice.
