A Walk Through Time and Nature Along Maine's Appalachian Trail
with Dave Field
Dave Field, Overseer of Lands for the Maine Appalachian Trail Club and Trail worker in Maine for 64 years will tell the amazing story of how the Appalachian Trail was scouted and built through Maine from 1925-1937, why and how more than half of the original Trail was relocated from 1970-1990, and the 40-year challenge of finding protection for the surroundings of the Trail. All of this will be illustrated with a walk, south to north, that emphasizes the beauty of the Trail and the plants, animals and geography along the path.
