Introduction to the Pottery Wheel - Hampden Academy

Satisfy your curiosity about clay! Come get your hands dirty in this fun introduction to throwing clay on the pottery wheel! This 4 session class will provide hands-on instruction covering the fundamentals of throwing clay: centering, opening, pulling up and shaping your pots. You’ll learn about the stages that clay goes through – from wet, to leather-hard, to bone-dry and about the hand-tools used for trimming and creating texture on pots. Please wear casual, loose fitting clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty.

Three Sessions to choose from, each limited to 4 students due to the number of pottery wheels.            

Session 3: May 6, 8, 10, 15             6-7:30 pm

Acrylic Pour Painting Class with Intuitive Messages. 

Ready to let your guides talk to you through art? Angie will take you step by step through a fun paint pouring process to create an amazing 8 x 10 canvased  piece of art... and THEN we'll look for messages within your paintings! (a form of scrying). You'll be amazed at what presents itself in your painting. You'll pick your colors, and your painting guides will help create your masterpiece! All supplies will be included (even a disposable pan to carry your painting home on). 1 ½  hour class.  All supplies are included, plus a brief message about what we see in the painting.

Language Development from Birth to 5 -  Smith School

This presentation will discuss language development and vocabulary for children from birth to 5 years old and the importance of early language development in grade school children. Included in the presentation will be how parents can boost language development and vocabulary learning in their children. The presentation is given by two Speech-Language Pathologists in the RSU #22 district.

Pickleball - Armstrong Tennis Center

Fun, social, and great exercise, pickleball combines elements of badminton, ping pong and tennis. Considered one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, pickleball can be played at many levels, and is a great sport for people of all ages. In this class you will learn all of the basics to begin playing this great game. Please indicate which session you would like to attend when registering. Cooking With BoomerTECH Adventures 

In this course, BoomerTECH Adventures guides Chris, Jill, and Ed share their love of cooking and enjoyment for lots of different types of foods. You will learn how to prepare several tasty stir fries using traditional Chinese flavorings, make fresh pasta, turn leftover sweet potato into gnocchi, stir up a great fried rice, and give ramen soup a delicious upgrade. In addition, discover an easy way to make your own pita pockets, flat breads, and tortillas. Plus, you will see a way to combine the benefits of cooking on cast iron with your love of grilling.
