Holistic Health & Wellness: Virtual

In this 6 week course, you will learn the importance of movement, stress reduction, self-care (including sleep strategies, rest, self-love, self-forgiveness) healthy nutrition and mindfulness and healthy relationships to improve your overall well being. This course will be done on Zoom in a lecture format with time at the end for Q & A, with journal prompts, hand-outs, text, phone call or email check-ins. There will be a FREE Zoom meeting to go over the course at the end of the 6 week session.

Tuesdays: 9 am – 10:30 am

Cost: $129-Includes: 90 minute sessions, journal, pen, hand-outs, weekly check-in via phone call, text, email and FREE Zoom meeting at the end of the 6 week session to wrap up the course.

Relaxation and Stress Reduction with Hatha Yoga: Virtual - 6 weeks

This 60-minute Yoga class will provide sequences that calms the nervous system along with stretching/warming the muscles and preparing the mind to rest. Breathing techniques, short meditation and positive affirmations will end the practice.

This morning class practiced in a chair offers mind and body benefits without having to get up and off the floor or eve changing into Yoga clothes. Enjoy a “pick me up” at home or at your office by using structural techniques to improve your range of motion, relax tight or overused muscles and release tension from the mind.

Tai Yoga Flow - 6 weeks - In-Person Class

In this 45 minute Tai Chi for Health and Gentle Yoga inspired class, you will perform at a slower pace, with less intense positions and it includes extended time for meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. Regular practice can increase flexibility and strength, balance, and overall well-being. The emphasis on posture means that it can instill a greater awareness of the body and how it moves through space.

Yogalates Fusion-Yoga infused Pilates on and off the Mat! - 6 weeks In-Person Class 

Strength is important. It allows us to perform all the activities we love for the rest of our lives. By focusing on our core, we can access the muscles that support our bodies. "Studying the practice founded by Joseph Pilates, we look at how to incorporate these movements and exercises into a yoga/Pilates fusion class that will strengthen the body, increase flexibility and improve our balance. Classes can be done with body weight exercises or with light weights if you would like to bring your own. Some exercise bands will be available to use as well.

Tai Chi is a form of gentle exercise and moving meditation, with many benefits to mental and physical health. In this 45 minute weekly class, you will be led through a Tai Chi Flow and learn The 8 Form for Beginners, a practice you can take with you to improve balance, strength, and a sense of calmness and well-being.  Instructor: Barbara Anne Cookson is a Health and Wellness Coach, Licensed Massage Therapist, Motivational Speaker, and Certified Begin With Breath Tai Chi Instructor.

How To Play Piano by Ear - Zoom -  2 1/2 hour class 

This class teaches students how to create music without the aid of any written materials at all. People commonly think that this is impossible to learn but it is an easily learned skill. Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the “Instant Piano” class and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Expand your musical horizons, and free yourself from sheet-music dependence, and be the life of the party! Prior experience with chords recommended. Fee includes the online book, online follow-up lessons, a recording of the class and an optional monthly question and answer session. Class is held online using zoom.

How to determine when chords change

How to predict the chord progression

How chords help you find the correct melody

How the melody helps you find the correct chords

How to learn songs from recordings
