Walking Club - Hampden Academy 

Too cold, dark and slippery outside to walk? Join our indoor walking club. Please change out of your boots into a good pair of walking shoes. Stay on the ground level or challenge yourself by walking between the first and second floors. This is an independent program with no instruction provided.

Satisfy your curiosity about clay! Come get your hands dirty in this fun introduction to throwing clay on the pottery wheel! This 4 session class will provide hands-on instruction covering the fundamentals of throwing clay: centering, opening, pulling up and shaping your pots. You’ll learn about the stages that clay goes through – from wet, to leather-hard, to bone-dry and about the hand-tools used for trimming and creating texture on pots. Please wear casual, loose fitting clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty.

Three Sessions to choose from, each limited to 4 students due to the number of pottery wheels. 

Session 2 : April 22, 24 26 may 1  6-7:30 pm

Holistic Health & Wellness: Virtual

In this 6 week course, you will learn the importance of movement, stress reduction, self-care (including sleep strategies, rest, self-love, self-forgiveness) healthy nutrition and mindfulness and healthy relationships to improve your overall well being. This course will be done on Zoom in a lecture format with time at the end for Q & A, with journal prompts, hand-outs, text, phone call or email check-ins. There will be a FREE Zoom meeting to go over the course at the end of the 6 week session.

Tuesdays: 9 am – 10:30 am

Relaxation and Stress Reduction with Hatha Yoga: Virtual - 6 weeks

This 60-minute Yoga class will provide sequences that calms the nervous system along with stretching/warming the muscles and preparing the mind to rest. Breathing techniques, short meditation and positive affirmations will end the practice.

Genealogy Workshop - At the Old Town Museum - In Person

Designed for beginners, but helpful for those who have some experience, it is a two part Genealogy Workshop. Part 1 will introduce you to genealogy and assist you in building your family tree.  Part 2 will address sources, storage and publication of your research. Sample worksheets to begin recording your data will be provided along with discussion of ways to make your research fun and successful.  A computer is not necessary, but may be helpful. Attendance will be limited to 20.

This morning class practiced in a chair offers mind and body benefits without having to get up and off the floor or eve changing into Yoga clothes. Enjoy a “pick me up” at home or at your office by using structural techniques to improve your range of motion, relax tight or overused muscles and release tension from the mind.

Ancient Hawaiian Hula dancing is steeped in tradition and history. In this 6-week, introductory class, participants will be immersed in the culture, language, and dance of the Hula Kahiko. This class is intended for those looking to begin an exploration of this sacred culture through the art of dance. Participants should dress for moderate activity. Participants will need to fill out a fitness waiver to participate in this class.

Our easy-to-access live online webinar will take you behind the scenes at Voice Coaches studios, where we regularly produce voice over content for clients including Netflix, Discovery, HGTV, Disney, Lifetime, Nickelodeon, and many more. From audio books, training material, animation, and commercials to socially relevant content, television, and much, much more: today’s voice over field has become a great way to leverage your individual voice qualities and communication skill in a whole new way. This class also includes an opportunity to receive a brief one-on-one voice range and quality assessment with our instructor.
