All Things Herbs


with Laurie Bowen

Calendar Mar 12, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

In this one-night workshop, you'll be introduced to different techniques to best preserve herbs. We'll discuss freezing and drying herbs, making herb pesto and infusing vinegars with creative combinations.

The $26.00 course fee includes the cost of all materials for this class.


America's Boating Course

Calendar Apr 24, 2019 at 6:30 pm, runs for 5 weeks

This Penobscot Bay Sail & Power Squadron Course is designed to familiarize the student with the fundamentals of safe boating and to qualify for certification in most states that require boating education before operating a watercraft.

We'll talk about safety equipment, trip planning, navigation rules and aids, state and federal regulations, anchoring, emergencies, communications, trailering and knots/lines.

A $10.00 Power Squadron Fee will be payable to the instructor.

The course book can be also purchased (optional)from the instructor for $26.00.

Basic Fly Casting

Calendar Apr 13, 2019 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

In this one-day, hands-on class, you will be provided with the casting skills necessary to fish effectively on your own. Students are encouraged to use their own fly rod and reel, but equipment will be available for anyone who needs it.

Basic Pet First Aid

Calendar Feb 28, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

In this one-night class, we will cover topics such as what should be in your first aid kit, tick preparedness, how to tell if your pet is in pain, what to do in case of common household toxin exposure, quill emergencies and CPR for your pet.

A veterinarian with over ten years of emergency and critical care experience will lead this important class. 

The $11.00 course fee is per household - bring the kids!



Biology with Lab

Calendar Feb 6, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 15 weeks

This 45 hour, high school level Biology class is designed for the student who is working on his/her high school diploma or for the graduate who needs a biology class in order to transition to college.

This course is free to local residents working towards an adult education high school diploma. For others, the course fee is $20.00.

Boston Flower Show Trip

Calendar Mar 16, 2019 at 6 am, runs for 1 week

You'll enjoy the beautiful gardens and exhibits at the 2019 Boston Flower and Garden Show. The show will feature garden writers, landscape professionals, master gardeners, local chefs and many venders along with instructional workshops and demonstrations.

The fee includes your paid admission to the show. No refunds after February 15.

Take the trip on a motorcoach bus and don't worry about driving, tolls and finding a parking space!

Bangor:    6:20 am


Caring For Your Cat

A local veterinarian will discuss with you in this one-night class basic considerations, needs and life-long care considerations for your feline companion. We'll talk about age and breed-related needs, indoor vs, outdoor cat issues, vaccines, and challenges with cat ownership.

From kitten hood to the golden years and fur balls to scratching post challenges, various aspects of feline ownership will be addressed.

Looking for an affordable CNA course?? Our popular 180 hour CNA course is scheduled to start April 8. The course will run on Monday and Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings.

The $695 covers your tution and textbook. We also offer convenient payment plan options.
